PROCESSION OF THE MAGI

A story that once took place in Jerusalem and its surroundings will take place in the streets and squares of the Old Town.

In many capitals of Europe, an expeditionary procession through the streets is organised to celberate Epiphany. Italian Florence boasts a centuries-old tradition of cavalcades of kings. On Saturday, January 6th, a procession of the Three Magi will take place in Bratislava for the fourth time in due of the ancient traditions of the European continent.

Three Wise Men from far away lands, representing members of three generations and three continents, will visit the capital of Slovakia on horseback and on camel. They will be accompanied by drummers, bagpipers and carolers. Little comet sparklers will show them the way.

The procession will set off from the courtyard of the Bratislava Castle at half past three in the afternoon. From there, you can follow the three kings on their journey to the star, a journey full of surprises.

The journey will proceed down the Palisades to the medieval town centre that symbolizes Jerusalem will reach the Main Square transformed into Bethlehem stall, where the Magi find the little King. A concert adds the final touch to the playful event.
